Big Bass Bonanza
Big Bass Bonanza is one of those games you open expecting five minutes and close forty later. The whole thing revolves around casting your line into a colorful lake, timing your reel, and hauling in fish of all shapes and sizes. It sounds simple, and it is, but the tap-and-hold casting has a nice weight to it that makes each catch feel earned.
The presentation carries a lot of the charm here. Everything is loud and cheerful in the best way: chunky fish sprites, splashy water effects, and a soundtrack that hums along without getting annoying. Progression comes from unlocking new spots and gear that let you reach bigger fish, so there's always a little goal in front of you.
Controls are built for one hand, which makes it a great commute game. We do wish sessions had a touch more variety later on, but as a relaxed pick-up-and-play it hits the mark. If you want something calm between heavier RPGs, this fits neatly.
